Our college field trip on January 27th to FAU and University of Miami did not exactly unfold as planned, but students found the first half of the trip to be beneficial. We arrived at FAU that morning in time to enjoy a personal information session in their beautiful Student Services building. While the rain put a bit of a damper on our campus tour, we all tried to stay dry wearing our complementary FAU rain ponchos.
Our tour guides escorted us to a state of the art residence hall, and we traversed the main campus breezeway and learned about the various campus facilities and programs. We finished our tour at the Sean Stein Pavilion in the College of Business where we had planned to board the bus and drive down to University of Miami for the second part of the day.
Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate with our plans - sending high winds, torrential rain and tornado warnings our way - so we waited at FAU until the weather had cleared enough for us to return to school.
Our students were outstanding despite the poor weather and the change in plans!
The trip to University of Miami will now be held on Wednesday, February 24th for all interested sophomores and juniors. Let's pray for sunshine!
