Harvard Rescinds Offers of Admission

There are many lessons taught and messages shared with our students about social media, the most prevalent one being the caution that what is shared on the internet is there forever. Similarly, what is posted may become public even if that is not the intention of the person posting.

We encourage you to follow the link below to read about a real-life lesson that a number of students admitted to Harvard’s class of 2021 just learned when their offers of admission were rescinded by the university due to their social media posting.

This is real and it is scary, but it is also preventable.  Students, please heed the message that questionable activity on social media can absolutely have terrible consequences for you. Parents, please do everything you can to help your children understand this message.

Scholarships Available!

There are millions of dollars in college scholarship funds available in the U.S. and much of it goes unclaimed each year. However, with a little effort some of these scholarships may be awarded to you, and it is NOT too early to apply!

Link to the list of many available scholarships with due dates in June. Please remember that there are over 100,000 private scholarships. You can find more scholarships through a multitude of scholarship websites such as fastweb.comunigo.com or scholarships.com, to name a few.

For help or support with the search engines or to review a scholarship essay, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me in the College Counseling office. Remember, the only way to win a scholarship is to apply!
